Approve Agreement with Redwood Community Services in the amount of $140,422 to provide Expanded Subsidized Employment for California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs) participants, effective July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022; authorize the Health and Human Services Agency Assistant Director/ Social Services Director to sign any future amendments to the Agreement that do not increase the annual maximum amount; and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The proposed Agreement with Redwood Community Services provides for a comprehensive and cohesive training program to develop or enhance skill of CalWORKs participants during the 2021-22 fiscal year. Services will include subsidized employment for eligible participants while they develop the skills, experience, and work history necessary to transition into unsubsidized employment. In addition to offering training with basic soft skills, participants will learn the specifics of the position they are hired for and develop the reference needed to move forward in the workforce.
