Approve transmission of letter to Workforce Alliance of the North Bay officially requesting Mendocino County's inclusion in the Regional WANB JPA; authorize Chief Executive Officer to sign resulting Joint Powers Agreement; and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The WIOA is designed to strengthen and improve the public workforce system, put job seekers back to work by helping workers acquire the skills employers need, and help employers access the talent pool needed to compete in a global economy. On July 1, 2016, a Joint Powers Agency was entered into between the counties of Napa, Lake, and Marin, to meet the requirements of the WIOA to operate a regional Workforce Development Board, which is known as the Workforce Alliance of the North Bay. In response to concerns over rising costs for the County of Mendocino to operate a single county local workforce delivery area, local staff have been working with WANB staff and the State to explore the possibility of joining the JPA.
