Approve amendment to Agreement No. PA 16-99 with LACO Associates in the amount of $27,000, for a new total agreement amount of $77,000 for fiscal year 2016-2017, and extend the termination date from December 31, 2016 to June 30, 2017, to provide professional services specific to the development of a Medical Cannabis Cultivation Regulation Initial Study; and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The County is currently contracted with LACO Associates for professional services related to preparing of an Initial Study (IS) for the Draft Medical Marijuana Cultivation Regulation Ordinance. The initial contract did not include attendance or support at meetings or public hearings. To continue to meet the timeframe to complete an initial study and adopt a cannabis cultivation ordinance, staff is requesting a contract amendment to increase the contract amount by $27,000 for additional support for public hearings, strategy sessions, special meetings and special assignments. The new total contact amount will be $77,000 with a contract extension from December 2016 to June 2017.
