PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
On Sept. 9th, 2014 the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors approved the original MOU that allowed participation in the NBNCBC beginning January 2014 after the approval of a grant application to the California Public Utilities Rural and Urban Regional Broadband Consortia Grant Account.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
In 2014 the four counties submitted a grant request for funding of the NBNCBC to the CPUC Rural and Regional Broadband Consortia grant program, which was approved via the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) Resolution T-17445. The four counties participate together via a MOU, which Mendocino County signed on September 9th, 2014. The original grant request was for three years of funding, but only two years were granted. On June 30th 2016 the NBNCBC successfully completed their two-year work plan.

As there is still work to be done to improve broadband access and speeds across the North Coast, the NBNCBC submitted an application in January 2016 for two more years of funding. The C...
