Conduct interviews of the applicants for the Mendocino County Tourism Commission and appoint one applicant to the vacant At Large Member seat and appoint one applicant to the vacant Food/Beverage Business Member seat.

PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
On May 19, 2015, the Board of Supervisors adopted a revised Mendocino County Business Improvement District ordinance (Mendocino County Code Chapter 5.140) that requires Board appointment of six members to the Mendocino County Tourism Commission representing specified categories and for specified terms. On July 7, 2015, the Board of Supervisors approved the election and appointment process for the Mendocino County Tourism Commission. On December 8, 2015 the Board of Supervisors made their first appointments to the Mendocino County Tourism Commission.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Pursuant to the current Mendocino County Business Improvement District ordinance, the Board of Supervisors is responsible for the appointment of six members to the Mendocino County Tourism Commission (MCTC) which will be designated as the contractor to administer the Business Improvement District (BID) and assume responsibility for implementing the approved marketing plan. In December, 2015 the Board of Supervisors appointed six members to serve staggered terms of one to three years to ensure no more than two of the appointed member seats expire in any given year.
