Approve amendment to Agreement No. BOS 16-072 with Redwood Community Services, Inc. in the amount of $277,000, to provide housing and services to assist emancipated foster and probation youth for HHSA FCS in FY 16-17; authorize the HHSA Director or designee to sign any further amendments to the Agreement that do not affect the annual maximum amount; and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
This contract amendment provides tiered funding for supportive housing to eligible young adults who exited the foster care system at or after age 18, who would otherwise be homeless and need the skills to become independent and self-sufficient. Redwood Community Services, Inc. (RCS) is the only program in Mendocino County, licensed by the California Department of Social Services Community Care Licensing, to provide Transitional Housing Program-Plus (THP-Plus) services to young adults, ages 18 to 24, who have exited the foster care system from child welfare or probation. In addition, this amendment provides for the option to extend services to eligible young adults to age 25 (SB 1252).
