Adopt Resolution authorizing the Department of Transportation (DOT) to advertise for bids and award DOT Contract Number (No.) 160089 for an estimated amount of $193,000, for the construction of the Hearst Willits Road Culvert Replacement on Hearst Willits Road, County Road 306, Mile Post 1.68, and authorize a temporary road closure with detour around the project for a period not to exceed two weeks (Willits Area); and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Mendocino County Department of Transportation will prepare and administer construction plans, specifications, estimates and contract documents for DOT Contract No. 160089, Hearst Willits Road Culvert Replacement on Hearst Willits Road. This project replaces an existing culvert that has deteriorated to the point of needing to be replaced and requires the design to provide for unimpeded fish passage of salmonids. DOT Contract No. 160089 is being funded with County Road funds for an estimated amount of $193,000. A temporary road closure for a period not to exceed two weeks will be needed for construction.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION/MOTION:
Postpone advertising and awarding of contract and delay commencement of construction.
