SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
In September of 2013 the Board of Supervisors approved a contract with Integrated Security Controls, Inc. to purchase and install a security system in the Mendocino County Jail. Part of the system, manufactured by PELCO, is experiencing issues and PELCO, the manufacturer of the original equipment is refunding $40,000 for the original cost of the equipment. A better system by Avigilon, one that is proven to operate well in jails in other counties, is being purchased and will replace the original equipment.
