RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION:

Adopt Resolution approving Department of Transportation (DOT) Agreement Number (No.) 170057 in the amount of $180,000, for professional archaeological services with Pacific Legacy, Inc., for the 2018 Quadrennial Environmental Service Archaeological Investigation Agreement; authorize the Director of Transportation to sign any and all amendments to the Agreement not to exceed $30,000 (County-Wide); and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
During the four-year period of DOT Agreement No. 170057, projects with archaeological factors are expected to arise. Mendocino County DOT does not have staff with specialized abilities to address these complicated archaeological problems and requires the services of archaeological firms to provide specialized archaeological support services. As required by federal funding sources, MCDoT conducted a Qualifications-Based Selection for professional services (Brooks Act). This process also meets state requirements under Sections 4525 through 4529.5 of the Government Code (popularly known as the Mini-Brooks Act).
