RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION:

Authorize contract award to Swithenbank Construction, Inc., in the amount of $235,736 for the Litter River Airport Terminal Building Remodel Project; authorize the Facilities and Fleet Division Manager to act as Project Manager and approve change orders for the project pursuant to Public Contract Code section 20142; and authorize chair to sign same.

PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
Approval of 2017-2018 fiscal year budget that included funding for the Little River Airport Terminal Remodel Project in Budget Unit 1710 Capital Improvements.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The existing Terminal Building is a gateway for numerous visitors to the Mendocino Coast is outdated and all interior and exterior finishes are worn out. The project will gut the building and provide a fully updated and remodeled facility within the same footprint of the existing terminal. The work includes upgraded electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems, a new roof and a reconfigured manager's office and waiting area, new exterior siding, new paint throughout and ADA improvements to meet current standards.
