Discuss and approval of draft letter addressing policy and fiscal implications of the fire disaster in our region, providing direction to staff as necessary and authorizing the Chief Executive Officer to finalize said letter for the Chair's signature and subsequent transmission to the State of California, Governor's Office of Emergency Services.

PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
The Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution No. 17-146 declaring the existence of a Local Emergency related to the Redwood Complex Fire on October 10, 2017; and has received updates on the issues regarding fire recovery efforts at every subsequent Board of Supervisors meeting.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
On Friday, December 1, 2017, the Governor's Office of Emergency Services held a meeting in Sacramento for the four counties affected by the October regional fire events to discuss the fire response and recovery efforts. As a result of this meeting, the four county administrators (Mendocino, Lake, Napa, and Sonoma Counties) decided to draft a joint letter for their collective Board's signature to transmit to the state.
This letter will address the policy and fiscal implications of the fire disaster in our region, including the tremendous loss on a scale that continues to be nearly incomprehensible.
