PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
On June 20, 2017, the Board of Supervisors approved the FY 2017-18 Budget. The narrative on pages 57-58 of the Mendocino County FY 2017-18 Budget affirms the Board's priority to invest Mendocino County Department of Transportation's (MCDoT) roads corrective maintenance funds to improve road surfaces by seals or asphalt overlays.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The Mendocino County FY 2017-18 Budget, in an effort to meet the public transparency requirements of SB 1 (Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017) presented narrative on pages 57-58 and a list of RMRA Projects on pages 499- 500. The RMRA Project listing was a new process and as explained in the Budget narratives. MCDoT listed more projects than the RMRA preliminary estimated amount of $1,250,000 in order to identify a large enough amount to claim all available funds. $2.5 million was listed in the Budget. The list of projects was expansive and diverse to cover any possible ineligibility determination by the new adoption process of the California Transportation Commission (CTC).
