Adopt Resolution authorizing the County of Mendocino to enter into an Agreement with the California Department of Water Resources to receive funds for the Redwood Valley County Water District's Redwood Valley Water Infrastructure Project and authorizing the Chief Executive Office to execute the Agreement on behalf of the County of Mendocino; and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The County has assisted the Redwood Valley County Water District in submitting a grant application to the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) to upgrade the district's water main line to accommodate new building codes. The grant can cover the cost of 75% of the project, but would leave a 25%--approximately $2 million--funding gap. Senator Mike McGuire was able to secure funding for the $2 million gap through the California State Budget. However, the $2 million is written in the state budget to be dispersed by the California Department of Water Resources directly to the Redwood Valley County Water District. The California Department of Water Resources will retain 5% of the $2 million to administer the fund.
