RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION:

Adopt Resolution approving creation of an Emergency Medical Care Committee to serve and act in an advisory capacity to the Local Emergency Medical Services Agency and the Board of Supervisors; approve proposed by-laws, including membership composition, for the Emergency Medical Care Committee; direct staff to work with the Clerk of the Board to establish membership application processes and other procedures as needed; and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
California Health & Safety Code (HSC) ? 1797.270 states "[a]n emergency medical care committee may be established in each county in this state." Although not an official committee of the Board of Supervisors, a large group of local stakeholders known as the Emergency Medical Care Committee (EMCC) has been meeting regularly for at least the past 20 years.
