SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The voters of Mendocino County passed Measure B on November 7, 2017, for the purpose of improving residents' lives and public safety by strategically evaluating and enhancing resources for mental health treatment. On April 24, 2018, the Board of Supervisors directed a budget unit be developed for Measure B and managed by the Executive Office. In addition, the Board directed that all Measure B funds must be approved by the Board of Supervisors before allocation.
On September 25, 2019, the "Mental Health Treatment Act" Citizen's Oversight Committee approved an item recommending the approval of allocating up to $50,000 of Measure B Funds to begin improvements to the Regional Behavioral Health Training Facility. Although the initial request was for $250,000, the Committee requested additional information regarding the plan for improvements and would consider the additional $200,000 to be allocated in the future.
