SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
This grant agreement is to facilitate disbursement of the Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) Mental Health Training Grant made available through the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) program. The BSCC is disbursing $7 million to local corrections agencies for a statewide mental health training initiative. The goal of this training initiative is to provide funding to local corrections agencies for critical mental health related training to their staff from May 1, 2019 through September 30, 2020.

This funding is being provided for two purposes:
1) Mental health training for local corrections staff;
2) Instructor training for new behavioral health training required by the Standards of Training for Corrections (STC) and is part of the Adult Corrections Officer Core Course.
