Approve retroactive Agreement with Mendocino Coast Hospitality Center in the amount of $66,516 to provide coast emergency winter shelter access in Fort Bragg and to the coastal region, effective November 15, 2019, through March 31, 2020, or until funding is no longer available; authorize the Health and Human Services Agency Director or designee to sign any future amendments that do not increase the annual maximum amount; and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Mendocino County has been partnering with local non-profit agencies for emergency winter shelter services for families and individuals experiencing homelessness in Mendocino County since 1982. Mendocino County currently contracts with Mendocino Coast Hospitality Center (MCHC) to provide shelter services and related resources to clients on the coast who are experiencing homelessness. MCHC provides beds, meals, shower and laundry facilities, phone access, mail delivery, other amenities, outreach, housing assistance, and case management to qualified individuals. The Coast Extreme Winter Shelter will provide overflow beds for individuals who need a place to stay on nights that present a significant health risk due to exposure.
