SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Consistent with the Board's legislative platform, approve a letter signed by Board Chair John Haschak and Vice Chair Gjerde to support a grant application to provide essential medical, law enforcement, health and human services, plus city water and wastewater service in Fort Bragg City limits during future interruptions in electrical service through the installation of an array of solar photovoltaic and batteries in Fort Bragg. Buildings to be served by the project include the County of Mendocino's sheriff substation and health and human services buildings on South Franklin Street in Fort Bragg city limits. If awarded, the grant would pay for the installation. No funding is requested from the County of Mendocino. If awarded, solar PVs would be installed on multiple properties, including the County's properties, most likely above vehicles in the parking lots.
