RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION:

Adopt Resolution Approving Department of Transportation Agreement Number 220006, Professional Services Agreement with Schaaf & Wheeler Consulting Civil Engineers, in the amount of $553,621, for the term beginning upon execution of the agreement through December 31, 2024, for consulting and engineering services for the Stormwater Trash Capture Design; authorize the Director of Transportation to sign any and all amendments to the agreement not exceeding $25,000 (Ukiah Area); and authorize Chair to sign same.

PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
By Resolution Number (No.) 20-018 (February 25, 2020), the Board of Supervisors (BOS) approved BOS Agreement No. 20-016/Department of Transportation (DOT) Agreement No. 190088 with Schaaf & Wheeler Consulting Civil Engineers (Schaaf & Wheeler) to perform the Stormwater Trash Capture Feasibility Study.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
On June 1, 2017, the State Water Resources Control Board issued Water Code Section 13383 Order letters (Order) requiring Phase II Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permittees to submit a method to comply with new statewide Trash Provisions. Under DOT Agreement No. 190088, Schaaf & Wheeler developed a comprehensive stormwater trash capture feasibility study as a preliminary step to compliance with the order.
