Approve Cooperative Agreement with the California Department of Food and Agriculture for the Agreement Amended total of $64,000 for the term dates January 15, 2021 through June 30, 2023; and authorize Chair to sign same.

Agreement # 20-0998-000-SA was previous passed through cobblestone and signed for the period of January 15, 2021 to June 30, 2022 for $32,000.                     

 

Summary of Request

This agreement #20-0098-000-SA increases the funding for the project to $64,000 and extends the ending date to June 30, 2023. Noxious invasive species such as gorse use water, restrict the growth of native vegetation, their roots alter the soil, they are an oily plant that causes a fire hazard and they reduce recreation.

 

Alternative Action/Motion:

Not approve agreement; provide direction to staff. The County Agricultural Department would not support the management of gorse in the Caspar Community area.                     

 

How Does This Item Support the General Plan? The noxious invasive species gorse uses water, restrict the growth of native vegetation, their roots alter the soil, they are an oily plant that causes a fire hazard and they reduce recreation. Generally gorse is a threat to man, land, water, recreation and the environment in general.
